Bob
Evans began speaking professionally upon return
from his assignment as the CBS News Foreign Correspondent
and Bureau Chief in Moscow in the then Soviet Union.
Early activity as a speaker was in the Association and
University marketplaces. But in responding to invitations
and inquiries, he soon moved into the Corporate marketplace
as well.
Evans is a member of the National
Speakers Association (NSA), the largest organization
of professional speakers in the world.
The NSA awarded Evans BOTH their CSP
(Certified Speaking Professional) and CPAE (Professional
Speakers Hall of Fame) – the latter considered
the “Oscar” of professional speaking. Under
100 speakers hold both awards from the 4,000 member
organization in its 30-plus year existence. Recipients
include: Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Art Linkletter, Earl
Nightingale, President Ronald Reagan, et. al.
Evans has given up to 100 presentations a year
in the United States, Canada, England, Switzerland,
France, Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. He is currently
active in the corporation, association, university,
and convention meetings marketplaces. He is President
and Founding Director of the The Global Trends Institute,
engaged in tracking future trends both in the United
States and worldwide.
Evans
is the former Senior Associate of John Naisbitt, author
of the best selling “MEGATRENDS” and “MEGATRENDS
2000.” At a meeting of the Southern Governors
Association, Bob shared a platform with Naisbitt, who
later invited Evans to became the Senior Associate of
the Naisbitt Group. Bob had the assignment of giving
speeches, background briefings, and executive presentations
to Nasibitt clients. That led Bob into his own study
and presentation of future trends projections.
Evans has also done “series”
presentations for selected clients. For example:
IBM - Global Market Briefings three
to five times a year for IBM’s Management Development
Center (MDC) at corporate headquarters in Armonk, NY.
Cenex Land O’Lakes - A seven
part Agribusiness series for regional customer meetings
over the summer months.
CoBank - Eight regional annual
customer meetings across the country.
He also has offered a concept of “Multiple
Marketing” for contracted speeches. Having
been invited for a major keynote speech at an annual
meeting, he offers on the same meeting program additional
presentations for:
Business breakout
sessions.
Spouse programs.
Off-the-record executive background briefings. |
In the Association market, ASAE (American Society
of Association Executives)
invited Evans to present the opening keynote address
for their international meeting in Bern, Switzerland.
Evans was asked to present ASAE’s first international
professional survey, “Association Trends in the
21st Century,” covering association executives
in seven countries spread over three continents.
